Volunteer work

In Room 4 we have been finding out about the importance of volunteers in our community. We have learned that they are people who help in our community without being paid.
Today we had the opportunity to volunteer to help out both in school and in the community. We spent an hour collecting rubbish this afternoon. We started down at Simpson Park, making sure that there were no bits of fireworks or rubbish left on the fields, and then we moved up to the school grounds and collected rubbish up there. Altogether we found 925 bits of rubbish!!! We were shocked at how many pieces we collected, but we felt very proud to do have done something good, and to have been able to volunteer to help.

  1. The Lawrence community are very fortunate and should be very proud to have such passionate environmentalists.
