Making 3D shapes with lollies! Yummy Maths!!

This term we have been busy learning all about 2D and 3D shapes for Maths.
Today we made 3D shapes using lollies as the vertices (corners) and toothpicks as our edges.
We worked together in pairs to make as many different shapes as we could.
We made cubes and cuboids (rectangular prisms).
We made triangular pyramids and triangular prisms.
We made pentagonal pyramids.
It was so much fun creating all of the shapes that we had been learning about.
We also enjoyed working with new people in our class.
The year 4's and the year 3's worked in pairs to make their shapes.
We made such great working teams.
Some groups tried to make as many challenging shapes as they could.
Everyone thought maths was terrific fun today.
At the end of Maths we all got to eat our vertices! Yummo! Tasty maths today. (and lots of awesome learning too!)
