Other poetry

These poems were inspired by our plane poem format.  They are super-original!

FACES

Freckled faces,

Wrinkly faces,
Old, young, fancy faces.
Pale, white, black faces.
Those are just a few.

Children's faces,

Adults faces
Big, fat, smiley faces
Up on heads faces
Babies faces too.

Friendly faces,

Mean faces
Don't forget naughty faces.
Last of all, best of all,
I like girl faces!

HORSES

Black horses,
Cool horses,
Wild, mustang, dangerous horses
Long, thin, skinny horses
Those are just a few.

Tame horses,

Caramel horses,
Appaloosa, spotty horses
Fast, running, racing horses
Gallopping horses too.

Fat horses,

Neighing horses,
Don't forget loving horses,
Last of all, best of all,
I like magic horses.

Plane Poetry

Check out some of Room 4's poetry from today (inspired by our airport visit)...

Qantas planes,
Jetstar planes,
Air New Zealand planes,
Popular American Airlines planes
Those are just a few.

Expensive planes,
Private planes,
Quick cargo planes,
Large hold cargo planes
Float planes too.

War planes,
First planes,
Don't forget Condor planes
Last of all, best of all,
I like Boeing 747 planes.

Written by Toby

Fast planes,
Enormous planes,
Air New Zealand planes
Noisy, big Jetstar planes
Those are just a few.

Passenger planes,
Private planes,
All Black planes
Up in the air planes
737 planes too.

Stunt planes,
Fancy planes,
Don't forget jet planes,
Last of all, best of all,
I like lolly planes.

Written by Ryan

NZ planes
Circus planes
Big, fat, long planes
Hard working fertiliser planes
Those are just a few.

Round planes,
Fast planes
Quick, hot planes
Disappearing planes
Blending-in planes too.

Beautiful planes,
Dirty planes,
Don't forget stinky planes,
Last of all, best of all,
I like candy planes.

Written by William

Little planes,
Big planes,
Noisy, quiet, float planes.
Private, royal, celebrity planes.
Those are just a few.

Fast planes,
Slow planes,
Jetstar jet planes
Up and down planes
New planes too.

Good planes,
Bad planes,
Don't forget crashing planes,
Last of all, best of all,
I like ALL planes.

Written by Anna

Little planes,
Big planes,
Enormous, cool, float planes.
Noisy, loud, quiet planes.
Those are just a few.

Jetstar planes,
All Black planes,
Fast, racing planes
Up in the sky planes
Colourful planes too.

Passenger planes,
Jet planes,
Don't forget top-dressing planes.
Last of all, best of all,
I like lolly planes.

Gymfest Event 2014

 X-il-r8 aerobics routine

Today we went to the South Otago Gymfest competition in Balclutha. We have been training throughout term 2 and 3, learning gymnastics routines and aerobics routines for the competition. Our aerobics team 'X-il-r8' performed in the groups sections with a really cool aerobics routine, which can be seen by clicking on the title above.
We had 9 gymnasts in the artistic section. They competed as teams and both teams were awarded a silver certificate which is a really great result.

Elephant's Toothpaste in the Lab

We had the coolest visit to the science lab. It was part of our unit about solids, liquids, and gases.
We all had to wear safety glasses. Mrs McTavish was our expert scientist.
William was the first assistant. He got to help Mrs McTavish create the mixture.
We loved watching the elephant's toothpaste oozing out of the bottle. It started off really fast and high, then it slowed down to a slow ooze.
It sure did make a lot!!!
We decided to do it again, but this time we added black food colouring instead of pink. Toby was the assistant.
It was a great reaction too....
...so we did it again. You can see from Mrs McTavish's face just how much she loves science! And we loved her enthusiasm as we visited the lab!

It was such a terrific afternoon, we can't wait to go back to the lab again!!!!
Check out our videos to see the reactions actually happen.
