Prize-giving 2017

Every year the students of Room 4 make me very proud. Not just for their academic achievement, but for their social, emotional and physical growth as well. I marvel at how much they change from the beginning of a year to the end and it is this progress that makes me very proud. Each child in Room 4 recieves a certificate at our end of year assembly, recognising their academic achievements for the year, but on prizegiving evening we recognise those students who achieved academic excellence, and diligence of the highest standard. Below are the winners of this years awards, and I extend a hearty congratulations to you all for your efforts and your achievements.
"Congratulations."

Book Review - Attacked by G. Brassi

This is a story about a girl named Livvie, who is sad about her father dying. She goes to stay with family friends for the holidays. Livvie and Jack go out fishing one day, and although it starts out very well, it certainly doesn't end that way.
Between a nasty shark, and some terrible weather Livvie has a lot to deal with...

We would recommend this book for children aged 7 and up. Some parts are quite sad, and some parts are quite scary, so it's not for everyone.

"My favourite bit was at the end when she got a surprise in a box." - Jess, Addy. Austin, Annabelle, Oranje, Olive, Emily, Issy, Ava, Liv, Skye, Charlotte and Chloe
"One sad part was when the silly boy, who was teaching himself to drive, crashed and killed Liv's Dad." - Aria
"A scary bit was when they were on the boat and the shark came up and got Serge," - Grace and Katie
"My favourite part was when Livvie made contact with Paperchase the rescue launch." - Archie and KC
"My favourite part was when the Molly, the other dog, came onto the boat and sat by Serge," Hannah and Oscar
"I loved how the author used lots of descriptive vocabulary, that made us feel scared, and sad and then happy, along with the characters. This book had the class wanting more at the end of every chapter. " - Mrs May
