We have been learning how to reduce, re-use and recycle this term. We decided to use recycled materials, or materials from home that we could reuse and make some fancy hats for technology. We had to create a design brief and think of all the things we would need to make our hat and we had to bring those things from home. We had a whole day day at school making our hats. We had to follow our design and make the shape, then we got to decorate our hat. It was so much fun! Check out the hats we created.
This Blog is a diary of all the things we get up to in our very busy classroom. It is an opportunity for family and friends to be completely involved in the learning that we do every day and it is a great place for us to add learning links that can be useful at home. We hope you enjoy our site, feel free to become a follower and visit us regularly as we update at least twice a week. We also welcome your comments.

Student of the week - Madison
Madison has set herself the goal to get onto linking before she finishes Year 3, and lately she has been working really hard to add flicks to all of her letters so that she is ready to start joining them together. - Great work Madison, I love it when kids work so hard to achieve their goals!!!!

Student of the week - Aaron
We have been having lots of fun creating hats out of recyclable materials and Aaron had some really creative ways to find new uses for things he found at home. Well done Aaron for having such a creative plan, and following it through to the end - a great hat!

Student of the week - Caitlyn
We have all been working really hard to learn our speeches to present to the class, and maybe in the junior speech presentation. Caitlyn had a very long speech and worked really hard to present it to an audience in our class. Well done Caitlyn, you did a great job!

Student of the week - Te Aroha
It is always great to see students really challenging themselves to learn new strategies and this week Te Aroha has been doing just that. She is making fantastic progress in her knowledge of timestables and division and she makes the most of all of her class time. Keep up the great work Te Aroha!
