This week we were lucky enough to attend a Futsal tournament in Balclutha. Nick was an excellent member of his team and showed terrific fair play skills throughout the day. He was also a star with his soccer skills and he scored lots of goals for his team. His team made it to the semi-finals, which was an awesome effort. Congratulations on representing yourself and the school with pride Nick!
This Blog is a diary of all the things we get up to in our very busy classroom. It is an opportunity for family and friends to be completely involved in the learning that we do every day and it is a great place for us to add learning links that can be useful at home. We hope you enjoy our site, feel free to become a follower and visit us regularly as we update at least twice a week. We also welcome your comments.

Her prize was an awesome easter egg. Congratulations Olive!
Shining Star - Nick
We are so proud of Nick - he is the first shining star for 2017. Nick was awarded the shining star trophy because he is always kind and considerate of others. He sees that people need help and he offers to help them. He represents our school so well when he is on sporting and cultural trips and lots of people have noticed this. These are citizenship skills and values that our school hold very true, so it is lovely to see Nick being recognised. Keep up the amazing work Nick - we are very proud of you!!!

Hundertwasser Self Portrait
As a part of our art unit we also studied the artist Hundertwasser.
His portraits had big round faces that took up a large portion of the page.
They had large eyes shaped like a rugby ball.
These portraits have no necks.
Hundertwasser also use large blocks of bright colours.
We loved creating these self-portraits, using pastels.
