Raisins in lemonade - science experiment

Now see what happens when we drop the raisins into a glass of fizzy lemonade.

Raisins in water - science experiment

See what happens when we drop some raisins into a glass of water.

Fireworks in a glass - 2 colours

Anna asked the questions "What would happen if we used two different colours of food colouring?" - because it was such a great question we decided to investigate. See how it changes.

Check out what happens when we add the oil and food colouring mixture to our glass of water.

Today we were doing some more science experiment sin Room 4 as a part of our 'Kitchen Chemistry' unit. We used mixed food colouring with oil and then slowly poured it into a glass of water to see what the reaction would be. Check out our videos to see what happened.

Making Popcorn

Today in Room 4 we carried out a science experiment using corn kernels, oil and heat.
When we turned on the heat we could see the moisture that was coming from the corn kernels. It was evaporating out of the kernels and then turning to steam on the frying pan lid. When the kernels got hot enough they began to explode. When that happened the kernels turned inside out and became white and fluffy. Soon we had a frying pan filled with delicious POPCORN!
