Camp 2017 - Eating tea

By the time tea time came around on Thursday night, we were all STARVING!!! There is no better way to solve this problem than heaps of Pizzas from Pizza Hut. It was absolutely delicious, and just what we needed before we started our night activities.

Camp 2017 - Discovery World

An absolute highlight of our trip to the museum was the freedom we had in Discovery World. Once the museum is locked to the public, we are free to explore and enjoy all of the wonders that Discovery World holds. It is like having your own scientific playground. The kids loved being able to go from one activity to another, and then still having time to revisit their favourites over and over again.

Camp 2017 - Lotions and Potions

When we arrived at the museum we had some afternoon tea and then headed into the classroom to do some chemistry with Emily, our educator. We started off by making 'elephants toothpaste' which was so awesome. We also melted a styrofoam cup, we exploded a bag and we investigated acids and bases by adding things to cabbage water. It was a so much fun do all of the experiments and we really enjoyed it.

Camp 2017 - Cadbury's Tour

One of the highlights of Thursday was our tour through Cadbury's We had a wonderful presenter, 'Lewis', who showed all the fun things there were to see. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take any cameras on the tour, so we don't have photos of all the amazing things that we got to see. But it was so much fun.
The whole way round Lewis kept filling up our choccie bags with more and more chocolate! It was so great - although Mrs May did make us hand it all in, and we only got it back when we got back to school on Friday afternoon.

Camp 2017 - Sports Hall of Fame

The weather wasn't on our side on Thursday, with heavy drizzle falling in Dunedin, so we had to have a quick change of plans. Instead of climbing Baldwin Street and eating lunch at the Botanical Gardens, we went to visit the Sports Hall of Fame instead. It was heaps of fun searching among the displays to answer questions on a scavenger hunt. There were so many cool things to see.

Camp 2017 - Ten Pin Bowling

Ten Pin Bowling on PhotoPeach

Our first stop on camp was Bowl Line, where we had heaps of fun ten pin bowling. For many of the class, it was their very first time - but I'm sure it won't be their last as it was so much fun!!! The winner of the day was Rachael Murray who had some serious skills!!

Shining Star Award - Danni

This week we went tree planting at Waitahuna. Danni absolutely loved planting flaxes along the river bank. She made everybody's day when she said
"I love getting my hands dirty. When my hands are dirty, I have happy hands."
It was wonderful seeing Danni so happy in her work, and enjoying the opportunity to be a part of such a cool conservation project! Great job Danni.
