Do not push it a story about a boy, called Cam, who likes to play in the forest at the back of his house. One day he came across a big red button that said, "Do not push." But Cam pushed it anyway. Then he thought it felt very different, and then he saw a level that said "please pull," but he decided not to pull it.
When he got home everything was VERY different, and it was like living in some sort of opposite world, where there were no rules, parents behaved strangely and children drove cars.
We think that children aged 6 and over would really enjoy this book. It was a short, funny story to read aloud in our Year 3 and 4 classroom. Kyle Mewburn has written many books, and this is one of our favourites.
"I liked the part when he found his Mum shoving her face with ice-cream and her face was covered in chocolate sauce." Hannah, Jess, Ava, Addy, Chloe, Oscar, and Charlotte
"My favourite part was when Mum gave Cam Dad's credit card." Angus, Waka, Austin, Issy, Oranje, Nick and Emily
"My favourite part was when he looked outside and everyone was crazy on the street, and things had gone haywire." - Archie and Skye
"I like it when the police were racing their cars." - Olive
"I liked the bit when Cam saw that everything in his backyard was upside down." - Grace and Livvy
"I liked it when he found the button." - Annabelle
"I just really liked the whole book," - KC and Aria
"I liked how Kyle Mewburn always has cheeky little twists and wonderfully descriptive language." - Mrs May
