Camp - Night walk and bed

Everyone had heard about the night walk. Older sibling have talked about it...we were nervous about it...but we wanted to do it.

The night supervisors, Elsie and Lauren, told us that we were running late for our final activity and that we would have to creep through the dark museum, because the lights would cause the alarms to go off. We had to walk in a line through the museum without making a sound. It was very creepy. We went through rooms and upstairs, no-one knew where they were going.

Suddenly we found ourselves sitting a pitch black room. Then Lauren turned on a torch so that she could read us a story. Behind her we could see Sultan and Sonia, (the Lawrence Lions) so we knew we were up in the animal attic.

As Lauren read the story there were many strange and scary noises coming from all around us. Children screamed, cried and clung to their friends!! Finally the lights came back on and we could breathe a sigh of relief to see that we were safe. After searching the animal attic for some of the characters from the story it was time to return to the classroom...except we would have to creep silently back through the darkened museum...

Silently we crept through the darkness, tip-toeing lightly so as not to trip alarms, when, suddenly from out of the darkness came a strange and scary MONSTER!! Children drop their arms and ran from the line, screaming and charging towards the light... what was that mysterious creature that caused such panic???

There was much bravado, laughter and many stories shared about the experience as children got ready for their beds.
We all slept in Discovery World. The parents and mrs May slept in there too. We got to choose where we slept, as long as we didn't try to sleep in, on or under anything.

We all snuggled down in our beds, and after a quick bit of whispering we all got off to sleep. It had been a busy, fun-packed day, and we knew that we had another one just the same ahead of us for tomorrow.
