Rotational symmetry

One of our Maths groups has been working independently this week on rotational symmetry activities.  The students found out that rotational symmetry is when a shape or image can be rotated (turned) and it still looks the same. Here's what they've come up with to help illustrate the concept of rotational symmetry.

Some students chose to take photographs of objects in the school environment which have rotational symmetry and they collated a Pic Collage on the iPads.

Others created a Google Draw pattern which demonstrates rotational symmetry.

Another activity was to use the foam shapes to create a pattern which has rotational symmetry.
