On Friday 1st March Lawrence Area School School held their annual senior swimming sports. This was a wonderful opportunity for us all to show case our swimming skills that we had been working on in the first 4 weeks of Term 1. The swimming sports was for all students from Year 4 - Year 13 and it was a great event.
Students selected the events that they wanted to enter. Events included either 1 length or 2 lengths of freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke. Some of our Year 4 students even entered the individual medley, which has to be some kind of record!!!
There was a lot of competitive spirit in the air as House Teams, 'Woods' and 'Read' cheered for their competitors. It was a lot fo fun and most students had either yellow or red 'war paint' on them depending on which house they were representing.
After lunch there were width races, where studnets swam freestyle, backstroke and flutterboard. These were highly contested races and it was very difficult for judges to find placings as everyone swam so very fast!!!!
Everyone had a fun day and enjoyed the atmosphere of the event. It was very noisy, very exciting and VERY competitive.
Well done to everyone in Room 4 who took part in the Senior Swimmings Sports. Many of you entered challenging events that pushed your boundaries and we are very proud of your for that!!! Look out next year....
